Get acquainted

Wool is said to be the best and most comfortable next-to-skin base you can possibly find – and Merino is one of the softest…

We spent months finding a good convincing mix that does not leave your neck red and irritated, that keeps you warm without overheating, that keeps shape and doesn’t tear after the second wash.

Wool has this smart feature of absorbing moisture and is still convincingly odor resistant… We have tested the base layers in all sorts of environments, temperatures and levels of activity. We even tried wearing the same shirt every day for a week and only let it hang dry it for next day to check how many days it was still ok to wear. A good hint for a longer trip to the outback, is to bring two shirts and change between them each day – you may not smell of red roses after three weeks but the wool regenerates if you hang dry it and let the absorbed moisture evaporate.

The T2 Turtlenck is designed with a soft extra high collar so that you can cover your face to get warm, long slim fit to drape over your hips, and long slim sleeves to drape around your wrists. We have made the sleeves long and added welded thumb holes so that they fit your hand completely and don’t have any seams to irritate around your thumb.

Polartec has developed the very convincing Power Wool™ hybrid fabric by isolating a merino wool interior and a synthetic fiber exterior in a unique bi-component knit instead of blending the fibres. This way, the fabric delivers soft and warm next-to-skin comfort and has distinct surface features to optimize wicking, breathability, odor resistance and durability.

C7 in action

When you stay warm and dry you can better concentrate and feel good. Stick with the layering principle and wear the T2 Base Layer Zip Neck as your next-to-skin garment.

If you have a few minutes, you should take a couple of minutes to watch this

Stay safe out there

In a layering system, the next-to-skin base is so important! The T2 Base Layer Zip Neck is designed to keep you warm and comfortably dry during medium and high activity. Gear up with cap, mittens and a buff when it get’s cold or you sit still for a longer period of time.

The seams are flatlock seams to ensure the most flexible wear and we have added anatomic welded thumb holes to make sure your wrists are covered and your fingers are free.

Care and attention

Machine wash cold, hang dry when you are out in the wild – back in civillisation, you can tumble dry low. Do not iron or dry clean. Avoid the use of fabric softener – it is soft enough towards your skin without being itchy.

When you feel good, you do good. Besides being a real tough outdoor garment, it is really nice to be cosy in.

Your best fit

Find a measuring tape and check out the following body measures following the indications on the dummy to the right. If you are not the proud owner of a measuring tape – and you haven’t got the faintest idea of where to find one – then go creative and find some rope, string, paracord or even fishing power line can do – although that might challenge you a bit…

Then find someone to help you out. The best and most accurate body measures are taken by someone else since some of the measures requires more than one hand and the chin to do it; and then you can always take the opportunity to state and underline how amazingly good looking you are.

We may not have your best fit – and this is where you write us an email on hello@vrtbr.com and tell what to produce next time!

Bust – Measure under your arms, around the fullest part of your bust.

Waist – Measure the narrowest part of your waist.

Hips – Measure 20cm from your natural waist as a guide. Stand with your feet together and measure around your widest part.

NOTE – your hip measurement is the most important to find the best fit! Don’t go for a size smaller to get a tight fit – the sizing chart and the grading system has taken that into consideration. If you are in doubt or have questions on how to choose, just write to us on hello@vrtbr.com and we will guide you.
