Get acquianted
We have tested this in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark – in Scotland, in Germany, in the States, and even in Greenland. In warm weather during the day and the chilly mornings and cold evenings when you are tired after having spent the whole day in the terrain. You will be surprised how comfortable this membrane is and how much it works for you…
The most convincing test of the C7 pant was on the photoshoot in Rosendal, Norway. This was out of season, so to speak, in the beginning of May, and we had to go into the valley and follow the streams and creeks, up the steep climbs to reach the breathtaking heights of the hunting grounds in 20 degrees Celcius! and clear blue skies. Not exactly the weather we had been hoping for.
But loaded with equipment in the crisp shades in the valley, the C7 pants performed surprisingly well – and even when sweating like pigs up the 300m climb – some parts literally on all four. Up the muddy track, the stretchpanels on the thighs, the pocket openings for ventilation together with the “Direct Venting”-membrane really showed their worth.
The best results and answers on the qualitative debrief of a test like this is when we stop concentrating on how it feels to wear and only focuses on the surroundings – as it should be.
C7 in action
C7 Pants are made from the eVent® DV Alpine 3-layer membrane with an elegant woven surface to reduce noise. The C7 Pants are waterproof and windproof to protect you from wind and weather in harsh Nordic climates. The C7 Pants are breathable to create a natural ventilation for your body while wearing it. Use the pockets for ventilation when the membrane isn’t enough.
Take a few minutes to listen to the good people from the eVent Fabrics Team behind the DV Technology:
The C7 Pants have adjustable waist and stretch panels on the thighs to give you a comfortable fit, and Cordura is added in the exposed areas to add extra strength and durability.
The stretch panels are placed on the back, in the waist and the upper part of the thighs to give you best freedom of movement on the active hunt. Combined with the long C7 Parka, you stay dry and protected even when it’s raining sideways…
Use the waist adjustment straps for flexible width of the waist. The positioning of the suspenders is deliberately placed on the sides so that the suspenders do not cross uncomfotably over the bust.
In the hem of the C7 Pants internal gaitors protect you from ticks crawling and all sorts of nature venturing into your boots. The gaitor is very light and with an added silicone grip in the bottom hem to keep it in place on the boots. There are no buckles or snaps or other adjustment systems so you can easily wear the pants inside your rubber boots without getting blisters or scrapes.
Stay safe out there
The side pockets on the C7 Pants are fitted with internal stretch pockets to keep your stuff in place and to prevent it from making too much noise when you move. Each side has a wide and a narrow chamber – use the narrow chamber to keep you knife in place so that it stays in place alongside the thigh and doesn’t hurt on the muscle when you kneel down.
Tick bites can be quite nasty – so we have added a lightweight gaitor with a silicone grip on the lower hem to keep them from creeping up your legs.
Care and attention
Protect your garment and it will protect you.
- – Before wash, secure all zippers and closures. Machine wash warm with liquid detergent. Rinse twice and hang dry.
- – We know it sounds strange but iron warm to rejuvenate the water repellent finish.
- – Do not use bleach or fabric softener. Do not dry clean. Hang dry.
Your best fit
Waist – Measure the narrowest part of your waist.
Hips – Measure 20cm from your natural waist as a guide. Stand with your feet together and measure around your widest part.
